On 9 October 2026, the Convitto Nazionale Canopoleno in Sassari will host the third Multiplier Event of HOW TIMELY – Handling Our Wor(l)ds in Translation: Intersemiotic strategies for Minority and Endangered Languages’ promotion among Youngers..
Sardinia, with its rich linguistic heritage, offers an ideal setting to reflect on how schools can support, promote and give new vitality to minority and endangered languages. The event brings together teachers, school leaders, researchers, policy makers and representatives of European projects to discuss how audiovisual translation, digital and intercultural pedagogies, and eTwinning-based collaboration can help young people value linguistic diversity and engage actively with the languages of their communities.
Programme highlights
After the institutional greetings from the Convitto Nazionale Canopoleno, the Municipality of Sassari, Roma Tre University and the Regional Education Office of Sardinia (USR Sardegna – eTwinning), the morning will open with a series of contributions on language education, plurality and minority languages.
The second part of the morning will be devoted to HOW TIMELY, with the project partners presenting its aims, results and resources.
Who should attend
The event is addressed to teachers of all school levels, pre-service and in-service teachers, school leaders, teacher educators, researchers and all those interested in language education, audiovisual translation and the promotion of minority and endangered languages. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the HOW TIMELY teacher training resources and platform, and to connect with a European network of schools, universities and organisations working for linguistic diversity.
